Melbourne Girls Grammar is seeking a knowledgeable, innovative, and engaging educator to join the collaborative team in our Technologies Faculty. We seek an outstanding Product Design and Technologies (Textiles/Fashion) educator who has passion and vision with the ability to engage students across middle and senior years.Industry experience will be highly regarded, including the use of CAD and sewing machines.The Teacher of Product Design and Technologies will be an energising and innovative classroom practitioner and collaborator. You will have a talent for creativity in curriculum design and an understanding of targeted feedback and the importance of designing high-quality formative and summative assessment experiences.You will be prepared to work within a collaborative team.The successful applicant will have excellent technical abilities in the area of:Product Design and Technologies (Textiles/ Fashion) Years 7-11With capacity to teach in a second subject area.The successful candidate will be a dynamic and passionate Teacher of Technologies who enjoys working closely with colleagues to develop curriculum and teaching strategies. We value collaborative candidates with excellent interpersonal skills who prioritise the relationships they build with their students and colleagues. The ability to maintain a positive and encouraging approach congruent with the values of the School is essential.Key Selection Criteria:Teaching Qualifications & Registration: Undergraduate degree in the relevant teaching area and current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.Knowledge of Curriculum & Pedagogy: Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and reporting requirements, with the ability to apply contemporary teaching and learning strategies.Student-Centred Approach: Ability to create engaging and inclusive learning environments that support students diverse learning needs, including literacy and numeracy development.Use of Data & Assessment: Competence in using student data and a range of assessment strategies to inform teaching practice and improve student outcomes.Commitment to Professional Learning: Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues to enhance teaching practice.Technology Integration: Proficiency in using digital technologies to enhance teaching and learning, including platforms such as Microsoft Office 365, Synergetic, and SchoolBox.Communication & Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues while maintaining professionalism.Child Safety & Wellbeing: Commitment to upholding child safety policies and ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contribute to professional networks, and support the schools culture and values.Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion: Understanding of and responsiveness to the needs of students from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socio-economic backgrounds.This position is located in the Merton Hall Senior School Campus at 86 Anderson Street in South Yarra. The role is full time and the salary is as per Schedule 1 Teacher Rates of Pay of the MGGS Enterprise Agreement 2023.
