There is a variety of benefits available for our people have a look at Why Stonnington .If you have any support or access requirements, or would like to speak to someone about employment or an alternative processes, please contact Councils Talent Acquisition team on 8290 1333.Please view the below documents for this position:Success ProfileInherent RequirementsJob DescriptionMake a significant contribution within the Operations department by maintaining the citys population of Council owned waste bins by carrying out waste collection duties as directed without risk to yourself or othersMaintain Councils population of mobile general rubbish and Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) bins, working with the Business Support Officer to order and restock the supplyMaintain the bin storage area in an orderly and clean mannerCommunicate with residents/retailers to ensure new bins are picked up, delivered and maintainedReporting back feedback to administration and management teams to initiate bin maintenance or rectification processes as requiredDepot duties include vehicle maintenance checks, reporting vehicle faults, cleaning and wash down.Receive bins at Councils depot, assemble bins for delivery and repair bins as requiredInstall bin tactile symbols as requiredCoordinate and manage bins for Council eventsConsistently stocktake the bin inventory and spare parts stored at the Depot and arrange for the recycling of unusable stockFor returned bins in good condition, wash and repair bins for reuseUndertake audits for the type and quantity of bins at a property as requiredThis is a great role for someone who is a positive team player looking to work outdoors and take pride in contributing to the presentation of community areas.This is a permanent full time position with an annual salary of $84,376 + 11.5% superannuation. You are based within our bright, modern and sustainable Tooronga Depot office which is located next to Tooronga Train Station and walking distance to Tooronga Village Shopping Centre.Desired Skills And ExperienceSkills in operating a waste collection vehicle and forklift (or similar) in a safe and efficient mannerUnderstanding of the occupational health and safety requirements in the waste collection industryCapacity to safely perform a variety of physical tasks and maintain awareness of basic exercises for the purpose of preparing before the commencement of a collection runSkills to enable effective communication with management, staff and customers with regards to information needsPrecision driving skills to complete tasks comfortably and confidentlyAbility to positively contribute to a team environment and be a productive team member as well as being able to work in an individual capacity.Flexibility to ensure targets are met within adequate timelinesProven ability to work safely with an outdoor works environmentKnowledge of safe Manual Handling Techniques and Occupational Health and Safety standardsCurrent Victorian Heavy Rigid Licence (or greater)Current Victorian Forklift Licence or the ability to obtainBasic knowledge of use of hand toolsSkills in operating a waste collection vehicle and forklift (or similar) in a safe and efficient mannerWork for Stonnington today.
