An exciting opportunity has opened up with a prominent government-affiliated organisation, known for delivering essential transport services across Victoria. This role offers the chance to contribute to major rail infrastructure projects that shape the future of regional connectivity.Your new roleAs a Project Engineer - Track & Civil, you will play a key role in supporting the planning and delivery of critical rail infrastructure works. Your focus will be on the renewal and upgrade of key track and civil assets, including:Turnouts, crossovers, rail and sleepersFormation, ballast, and station pitsLevel and pedestrian crossingsRail profiling and associated civil worksYou will collaborate closely with project managers and stakeholders to ensure project scopes are clearly defined, technically sound, and aligned with broader asset lifecycle strategies.Key responsibilities:Review and validate project nominations for track and civil works.Coordinate site inspections and stakeholder workshopsProvide engineering input into project planning and developmentSupport cost estimation and design phase managementDevelop project briefs and high-level scopesManage the design process, ensuring compliance and qualityConduct site visits for investigation and stakeholder engagementWhat you''ll need to succeedDegree-qualified in Civil EngineeringProven experience in rail infrastructure, particularly track renewal projectsBackground in railway maintenance or consultancy design is preferredStrong understanding of project development, design, and costingExcellent stakeholder engagement and coordination skillsWhat you''ll get in returnYou''ll join a high-performing team committed to delivering impactful infrastructure projects, with the added benefits of flexible hybrid working, exposure to major public sector initiatives, and strong potential for contract extension and long-term career growth.What you need to do nowIf you''re interested in this role, click ''apply now'' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV or send direct to Alissa.Sara@hays.com.au.
