We are proud of the incredible work our employees do providing support, giving hope, and providing opportunities for a better life.About The RoleWe are seeking a resilient and compassionate Centre Manager to lead day-to-day operations at the Melbourne Immigration Detention Centre.In this key leadership role, you will:Lead and support a large, multidisciplinary workforce in a 24/7 settingEnsure service delivery meets all contractual, legislative and procedural requirementsFoster a safe, respectful, trauma-informed environment for detainees and staffEngage closely with government partners, service providers, and community stakeholdersDrive continuous improvement through performance metrics, audits and team feedbackRespond effectively to critical incidents, risk and compliance issuesTo be successful in this role:You are a resilient, values-driven leader who thrives in high-pressure, complex environments. You lead with integrity, cultural sensitivity, and strike a strong balance between operational efficiency, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.Key Requirements:Proven leadership experience in detention, corrections, defence, emergency services or similarStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsDeep understanding of contract compliance, risk, and incident managementDemonstrated ability to build positive team culture and high performanceCommitment to trauma-informed, culturally sensitive practicesResilience and integrity under pressureEligibility RequirementsAustralian Citizenship (required for security clearance)Ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA security clearance and AFP checkRelevant tertiary qualifications in management, justice, or human services (desirable)For a confidential discussion, contact tm@mtctrains.com.au.
