The management and delivery of special interest group conferences and events. The management and delivery of the Faculty of Pain Medicine (FPM) Spring Meeting.This role directly reports to the Senior Events Manager and will be managing one (1) Events Administrator.This position involves working outside normal business hours for committee meetings, Zoom meetings and conferences. Interstate and overseas travel is also required.About the team:The events team, as the in-house professional conference organiser is responsible for developing and delivering educational and quality assurance initiatives for fellows, including the annual scientific meeting (ASM), meetings, distance and electronic education and supporting continuing professional development (CPD).The team also provides support for the tripartite Special Interest Groups (SIGs) of ANZCA, the Australian Society of Anaesthetists (ASA), and the New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists (NZSA).Keys to your success:This is an ideal role for a skilled events management professional with experience delivering complex and innovative events. You will have outstanding stakeholder management experiences and thrive in an environment with deadlines and competing demands.Specifically, you will have: Proven track record in event management, preferably in a medical college setting or similar institution that has involved exposure to:Financial management; planning budgets and preparing financial reports.Planning and organisation of medium to large scale of conferences/events.Strategic risk management with a focus on identifying growth opportunities and fostering innovation.Marketing.Staff leadership. Committee support duties - preparation of agendas, minutes and follow up on actions Expertise in an events management software, such as Events Air or equivalent. Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, perform under pressure and deliver favourable outcome to tight time frames. Strong foundation in project management with an ability to prioritise multiple tasks associated with organisation and planning of large events. Proficient in effectively handle conflicting demands and requests. Demonstrated high-level written communication skills with the ability to prepare accurate and concise meeting minutes and manage official correspondence in accordance with college standards and protocols. Well-developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills, demonstrating confidence and professionalism when interacting with a diverse audience including senior professionals and medical specialists. Exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of work. Strong initiative and ability to exercise independent judgement.
