This role will be based in Melbourne CBD on a full-time basis.As a dedicated Account Manager, you will look after our Insurer clients which includes:ownership and management of a portfolio of public liability incidents and claimsliaising with relevant partiesassessing liability and financial exposure and making recommendations for the future strategy of each claim, whilst achieving a superior result for our customers.Responsibilities1) Ownership and maintenance of a portfolio of filesEarly and effective liability assessmentAssessment and justification of reserves in line with authority levelsEmploy proactive early intervention strategies to reduce claims costDevelop a strategy for claim resolutionPrioritise tasks to oversee up to 180 - 200 claim filesAssessment of recovery prospects2) Ownership and maintenance of Trust Accounts where appropriateManage clients trust account including payment of legal invoices and settlementsReconciliation of Trust AccountsKeep Trust Accounts in the black3) Maintain the client relationship to achieve superior resultsCommunicate effectively with claimants, clients, brokers, investigators, lawyers, insurers and medical practitioners via written and verbal meansDemonstrate effective negotiation and liaison techniques with clients, claimants, lawyers, brokers, insurers and service providersProvide training, as required, to the insured to facilitate improved risk managementReport to and update relevant stakeholders regarding claims as requiredFacilitate regular and structured contact with clients4) Competent use of systems and processes in claim managementEffective use of Figtree, Organise It, and OutlookUnderstand and adhere to Proclaim processes and proceduresUnderstand insurance policy review, application and policy coverage5) Supporting the achievement of company goals and visionEffective file and claim management to support Proclaim in meeting objectives and targets (budget, new business and existing business)Account retention and development of new businessUtilise marketing and networking opportunitiesSupport other team members as requiredWhat will help you succeed in this role?Skills and Experience:Accuracy, attention to detail and qualityTime management and demonstrated ability to prioritise and multi- taskEffective Negotiation and advocacy abilityStrong verbal and written communication including sound telephone mannerComputer skills Usage of internal systemsDrafting documents, letter writing and typing abilityAbility to run and interpret reportsSolid analytical and dispute resolution abilityRelationship buildingPresentation skillsTechnical Skills:Broad understanding of the Insurance industryUnderstanding of the Insurance Contracts ActUnderstanding of the Insurance Code of Practice and Privacy CodeUnderstanding the role of brokers and industry stakeholdersUnderstanding of Law/Tort/ Contracts and State JurisdictionsInterpretation of policy/clauses/exclusionsSolid understanding of the client structure, fee structure and invoice processAbility to assess quantum and reserve effectivelyAbility to identify conflicts of interestUnderstanding of Lloyds of London key processesWhat we offer?At DWF, we deeply appreciate the significance of offering a comprehensive rewards package that extends beyond a basic salary.
