The roleThe Senior Claims Consultant will manage a portfolio of complex liability and legal files within the liability claims department, whilst achieving cost effective and quality claims handling through robust relationships with team members, internal and external service providers.Manage a portfolio of complex liability and legal filesAssess liability and settlement outcomesNegotiate with third parties, insurers and legal representatives including recovery agents and credit hire organisationsManage relationships with our panel of legal suppliersFollow settlement methodology ensuring company procedures and relevant legislation is adhered toConsult with external solicitors on claims requiring defenseor settlement offersResolve complex settlement claimsApplication of Insurance Contracts Act, Code of Practice and other regulatory authoritiesApplication of Australian legal process and proceduresWhat experience youll bringPrevious debt collection, paralegal or insurance claims experience will be highly regardedDemonstrated ability to work autonomously and think proactively along with proven innovation andsolution based solving skillsA track record of strong stakeholder management and influencing skillsExtensive background in managing complex insurance claims including legal litigation desirableAbility to maintain strong relationships with internal & external stakeholdersHighly developed written and verbal communications skillsStrong creative and strategic thinking to leverage department performanceStrong attention to detailAbout usAt Auto & General (A&G), we provide smarter products and solutions to safeguard our customers in their time of need.
