The Unit monitors those individuals identified as high profile, high risk or complex and is responsible for monitoring the progress of people across both prisons and community correctional services. The complex classification cohort includes those identified as posing a risk of violent extremism.About The RoleThe Assistant Manager is responsible for the assessment, classification, sentence planning and sentence management of people identified with complex classification needs, with a focus on people accommodated in restricted prison environments, and mainstream/protection environments as required. The position is based in Ravenhall and requires travel to a variety of Corrections Victoria facilities across the state.This role offers flexible work arrangements with work from home days available.As an Assistant Manager, some of your duties will include:Conducting risk assessments of people in custody to determine appropriate placement, with a focus on terrorist/violent extremist persons.Conducting placement reviews of people accommodated in Management and High Security Units and contribute to decisions relating to the placement and management of people in custody.Conducting regular reviews of those managed by the Major Offenders Unit accommodated in mainstream and protection accommodation.To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:Knowledge of Corrections Victoria policies, organisation, procedures and relevant legislation and regulations.QualificationsA relevant tertiary qualification or experience is desirable.How To ApplyPlease click the Apply button on this advertisement.
