As AI Safety Lead, youll have the chance to influence the adoption of responsible AI practices that align with cutting-edge industry standards, while being part of a forward-thinking team committed to innovation and ethical technology.The RoleAs our AI Safety Lead, you will champion the integration of the Australian AI Voluntary Safety Standards into our policies and product lifecycles. This is a unique opportunity to influence how we innovate responsibly, mitigate risks, and deliver AI solutions that align with ethical and regulatory standards.Youll work across the business to foster a culture of ethical AI practices through collaboration, education, and cross-functional partnerships, while designing robust testing and evaluation frameworks for AI systems, particularly large language models (LLMs). In this role you will also lead red-teaming initiatives to identify and address vulnerabilities in AI products.What Youll DoImplement governance frameworks to ensure compliance with the Australian AI Voluntary Safety Standards and mitigate risks in AI development.Build tools and processes to assess the safety, reliability, and ethical alignment of AI systems throughout their lifecycle.Develop adversarial testing initiatives to proactively address AI vulnerabilities.Deliver workshops and act as a trusted advisor, increasing organisational literacy on AI safety principles.Stay informed on AI safety advancements and regulatory changes, conducting audits and recommending strategic investments.What Youll BringA strong understanding of the Australian AI Voluntary Safety Standards and their application in SaaS environments.Expertise in testing, evaluation, and risk assessment for AI systems, including experience with LLMs.In-depth knowledge of ethical AI principles such as fairness, bias mitigation, privacy, and explainability.A proven track record of implementing AI safety practices in a commercial setting.Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.Strategic thinking and adaptability in navigating an evolving industry.Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, AI Ethics, or Privacy Law).Hands-on experience with large language models and AI system development is highly desirable.Ready to Lead the Way in AI Safety?If youre passionate about responsible AI innovation and want to play a key role in shaping its future, wed love to hear from you.Our Culture & BenefitsOur values have stood the test of time.
