We are the main provider of health services to the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, offering ambulatory, inpatient, and home and community-based services.This is a fixed-term position until 30th November 2025, full-time at 80 hours per fortnight, located at Alfred Hospital.The DepartmentThe Alfred/Monash Shared Pathology Project was established in late 2020 as a joint initiative between Monash Health and Alfred Health to explore shared pathology service models. The project aims to deliver a shared Alfred/Monash Pathology service, considering benefits and risks based on previous work and ongoing reforms by the Department of Health. It includes establishing operational, clinical, quality, safety frameworks, and shared technology systems.Position SummaryThis role involves working with the project technology team to build, test, and implement all medical devices for the Shared Laboratory Information System (LIS). Key responsibilities include:Implementing and managing pathology instrument integration within the Shared LIS project timelines.Organizing and conducting system integration testing (SIT).Supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) cycles.Planning and deploying interfaces for the Shared LIS Go-Live.Providing post-Go-Live support.Skills and QualificationsUniversity degree in Computer Science or related field.Pathology Medical Device Integration (MDI) experience preferred.Knowledge of ASTM standards.Rhapsody Integration Engine experience.Minimum 4 years hospital/contractor medical device integration experience.Proficiency in JavaScript programming.Understanding of computer networks, firewall rules, TCP/IP ports.Experience with Cerner Millennium integration preferred.Staff BenefitsSalary packaging and novated leasing options.On-site gym facilities at Alfred Hospital.Modern library facilities exclusive to staff.Health and well-being incentives.Discounted health insurance.Staff car parking (subject to availability).Application DetailsFor inquiries, contact Catherine Kirby at C.Kirby@alfred.org.au.
