Senior Clinical Oversight Officer, Mental Health and AODJob Function: OtherWork Type: Ongoing - full timeAbout this roleUtilise your clinical expertise to provide support and advice to Victoria''s justice facilitiesOngoing, full time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public ServiceThe Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Clinical Oversight Officer, Mental Health and AOD to provide a critical role within Justice HealthAbout the Business UnitJustice Health is responsible for:the delivery of primary health, primary mental health and specialist forensic mental health services for people in Victorian custodial facilitiesmanaging relevant contractual arrangements, including overseeing the delivery of health services and the provision and maintenance of all medical records in an electronic medical recordfacilitating the release of health information to community health care providers, legal representatives, and individualsthe design, procurement and delivery of new and innovative, evidenced-based health services that meet the needs of people of all ages and genders in custodyAbout the RoleThe role of the Senior Clinical Oversight Officer, Mental Health and AOD is to review, investigate and audit mental health and AOD service delivery, including through location-based audits, provide evidence-based clinical advice to inform service design and system improvements and maintain sound systems, policies and procedures that support audits and reviews. Senior Clinical Oversight Officers work collaboratively with key service partners to identify and respond to issues and risks that affect health care outcomes and provide high level strategic advice, reports, briefings, presentations and correspondence on complex and sensitive matters.Some of your duties will include:Review, investigate and audit mental healthcare deliveryProvide evidence-based clinical advice to inform mental health service design and system improvementsEngage with people in custody to understand their healthcare needs and experiencesEstablish and maintain strong relationships with contracted service providers that support prompt resolution of clinical issuesPlease note that regular state-wide travel will be required and participation in an after hours on-call roster.To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description.About youTo be successful in this role, you will have:Demonstrated experience in delivery of mental and/or AOD healthcare services in highly sensitive and complex environments.Demonstrated experience in a quality focused role.A passion to Identify issues in common for one or more clients or stakeholders and use them to build mutually beneficial partnershipsAn ability to Formulate and communicate public policy options and recommendationsQualifications/requirementsA tertiary qualification in a mental health, AOD or related field.Current AHPRA registration is desirable.How to ApplyPlease click the Apply button on this advertisement.
