You will also play an integral role on Treasurys Executive Board, making a significant contribution to the strategic direction of the department.You will possess excellent leadership skillsputting your people and the priorities of the Treasury at the centre of your thinkingto deliver exceptional policy advice, program delivery and services to Government.You have strong stakeholder engagement capabilities and are driven by creating sustained and productive relationships with stakeholders, including those from industry and government organisations, including the states and territories. Through these engagements you can identify issues and develop and drive policies that deliver better outcomes for the Australian community. You will work closely with all members of the Executive Team, the Minister for Housing, Minister for Homelessness, Minister for Cities and other Treasury portfolio Ministers.As the Director-General, Housing, you will have extensive professional or executive management experience and enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced and diverse operating environment.Desirable Qualifications / Experience:As an SES Band 3 you will have:the ability to lead and motivate a large team to provide timely, influential and evidence-based policy advice and deliver on the Governments prioritiesknowledge and understanding of Australias economic environmenta proven track record in leading large-scale, high-profile projects or reformsa proven track record in negotiating and working with senior stakeholders from the government, industry, states and territories, business, not-for-profit and academic spheresthe ability to effectively brief senior stakeholders and Ministers, including on sensitive and complex matterssound governance skills including understanding of risk and innovative approaches to policy and program deliverythe ability to contribute to organisational goals and drive departmental initiatives in a timely and effective manner.Tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant field, including but not limited to economics; accounting; taxation; law; public policy; international relations; or business and commerce is desirable.The position is based in Canberra.How to apply:Your application should be lodged electronically to Beaumont&Beaumont at by 11:30pm (AEST) Tuesday, 8 July 2025.
