The scope of practice includes cardiorespiratory, orthopaedic surgery, functional decline, complex comorbidities and age-related needs. Prioritisation and management of individual caseload is expected, along with the provision of clinical advice to the interdisciplinary HITH team. The role may include direct supervision of any physiotherapy students working within the HITH team.Position DutiesThe delivery of the highest standard of physiotherapy services to the HITH team as directed incorporating the mission and values of St Vincents Health Australia.Provide optimal Physiotherapy clinical management of HITH patients including effective assessment, goal setting, intervention, liaison and discharge planningProvide guidance to the HITH team regarding indications for physiotherapy interventionCommunicate assessment and treatment outcomes to nursing, medical and other allied health staff via documentation and relevant meetings.Communicate effectively with inpatient multidisciplinary team to facilitate efficient continuity of careWork collaboratively with HITH team members to ensure patients receive best practice care to meet their needs.
