As the team builds out a new private credit strategy, incorporating a greater proportion of publicly traded instruments, they are now navigating a different set of operational complexities not typically present in traditional private markets.As a result, they are looking to hire someone with a strong middle office, trade support or investment operations background to take ownership of this function within the investment team. This role offers a unique opportunity to embed within a high-performing team, take real ownership of operations, and potentially transition into a more execution or market-facing role over time.Key responsibilitiesOversee trade execution workflows and settlement of bond trades and repos (Austraclear / Euroclear)Troubleshoot clearing issues and liaise with counterparties to avoid settlement failuresEnsure accurate trade booking and seamless data flow across internal systemsTrack key portfolio events and manage liquidity across the portfolioLead operational process improvements and help implement best practice OTC trading operationsAssist in the rollout of a new trading platform and contribute to scalable infrastructureOver time, responsibilities may expand to include:Supporting trade selection and investment analysisExecuting routine trades and providing cover for trading staffWorking with internal teams and external advisors on counterparty arrangementsTaking broader responsibility for day-to-day portfolio operationsIdeal backgroundBachelors degree in finance or a related fieldPrior experience in a trade support, investment operations or middle office roleDeep experience with bond and repo settlement workflows, including SWIFT, Austraclear and EuroclearStrong understanding of fixed income instruments and their lifecycleHigh level of proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Bloomberg, including Bloomberg in ExcelThe firm has a flexible and mature approach, but the role is based in Sydney and requires five days a week in the office.
