Building engagement with families, play group session and connecting failies and individuals with other appropriate services.The aim is to provide opportunities for eligible families to develop parenting skills and confidence to support their childrens development.In this key role, you will: Facilitate weekly supported playgroup sessions in both Wodonga & Wangaratta for parents, grandparents and/or carers with Aboriginal children 0-5 years. Support and advocate positive parenting and behaviour and guidance strategies. Utilise strength-based strategies to build confidence in parents and carers. Connect families with community services and programs. Develop relationships with services such as Child and Family Services, MCH, Enhanced MCH, Child FIRST and Community and local services supporting disadvantaged families to attend Supported Playgroups Engage with eligible families and build supportive relationships to encourage their enrolment and participation in the supported playgroup program. Provide learning opportunities for children in the program consistent with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework Refer in home support for eligible families that have identified as having additional vulnerabilities to enhance their parenting capacity by increasing the quality and frequency of the parent-child interactions. Support parents, grandparents and/or carers to engage in activities with their children. Work both independently and collaboratively as a supportive, knowledgeable, and constructive member of a diverse multi-disciplinary team, and work in the same manner with relevant stakeholders. Provide education and practical support to families to enhance parenting skills and capacity and reduce risk factors impacting the safety of the child/ren or young people.
