Turnbull Toyota has been operating in Gippsland for 60 years.Essential Skills/Qualifications/ExperienceMust possess industry-level certification to operate as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic in relevant state, territory or jurisdiction - AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)Developed knowledge of the automotive industryAbility to work productively in an autonomous environmentPreventative maintenanceHighly motivatedAbility to manage time effectively and multi-task where requiredAbility to contribute to building a positive team spiritGuest Service focusedA friendly and approachable personalityResponsibilities:Identifying and diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues in engines and related componentsRepairing or replacing damaged or worn components and reassembling mechanical systemsConducting routine services and maintenance tasksDisassembling and removing engine systems, transmissions, steering assemblies, and other parts for inspectionReassembling engines and components following repairsTesting vehicles and mechanical systems post-repair to ensure optimal functionalityUsing diagnostic tooling to diagnose issues and determine faultsCarrying out roadworthy testing and issuing repairs or certificates as requiredAttending vehicle breakdowns and offsite service callsDetecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and partsRepairing and replacing worn and defective parts, referring to service manuals as neededPerforming scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups to ensure vehicle performance and complianceReassembling engines and parts after repairsTesting and adjusting mechanical parts for proper performanceDiagnosing and testing parts with computer assistanceInspecting vehicles and issuing roadworthiness certificates or detailing work requiredResponding to vehicle breakdown service callsPost-trade experience in a similar roleAdditional licenses (Air conditioning, Roadworthy, etc.) are advantageousAn attractive remuneration package will be negotiated based on experience.Please note, the successful applicant will be required to apply for and satisfactorily obtain a current National Police Check, at their own expense.
