With 130+ staff and a fleet of 35+ aircraft, Aerotech Group have a well-deserved reputation as an Australian leader in providing aerial solutions, working across several sectors including firefighting, agricultural spraying, mining support and medical evacuations.About the RoleDue to the continuing expansion of our Helicopter fleet we are recruiting a stand alone Head of Training and Checking and Head of Operations for our Part 141/142 Helicopter operations. This position will work closely with our established Helicopter leadership team including our Head of Flying Operations and Helicopters Operations Manager to support Aerotech in successfully continuing on this growth trajectory.This is a hybrid role based in Adelaide with a combination of operational and administrative shifts. Whilst there is flexibility for days and hours this role is permanent full time and must be in Adelaide. For the right applicant relocation assistance and/or transition support to civilian qualifications will be provided if required.Key responsibilities include:Conducting ground, flight, and simulator training in Australia and Internationally, predominantly for SK70 and EC135 aircraft.Conduct flight testing to support internal training and checking activities, contracted training and checking activities, and approved Part 141 and 142 flight training activities.Maintaining personal pilot competencies and currencies and performing the duties of a line pilot when required. This includes firefighting domestically and internationally, HEMS and other ad hoc flying assignments.Manage CASR training and checking requirements for approximately 40 pilots who operate SEH and MEH under Part 133 and 138.Lead a team of up to 9 check and training pilots and examiners to efficiently train a diverse pilot body operating 4 different types of aircraft across challenging operational environments and contracts.Bring high level theory and flying experience in the UH60 A/L aircraft. Conduct type rating theory and FFS training for the award of SK70 type ratings.Manage CASA communication for all HOTC and Part 141/142 requirements.Assist with the Aerotech internal and external auditing schedule.Develop and maintain Part 141/142 syllabi.Maintain the suite of Aerotech Helicopter Operations Manuals associated with Training and Checking (NVIS manual, MCC manual, TACM etc.).Support the Safety Manager with technical analysis of safety reports and investigations.Required Qualifications and ExperienceClass 1 medicalInstrument Rating (MEH, IAP 2D, IAP 3D)Night VFR rating - HNVIS rating (G1)LL HTR SK70Flight Instructor Rating (G1, IR H, NVIS, NVFR H, TR SK70)Have a satisfactory record in the conduct or management of training and checking in relation to air operations.Flight Instructor Rating (FIR H, LL H, MCP, TR EC135)LL H (Sling)Aerial Application (FIRE H, H)TR EC 135Familiar with WebManuals softwareCulture and BenefitsBoasting an enviable, relaxed and down to earth culture, you will get to work within a well-established and successful family business, where staff pride themselves on providing exceptional service to their varied clients.
