The primary responsibility of the successfulapplicant will be to investigate allegations of misconduct bysolicitors and barristers practising in South Australia and toreport to the Commissioner on those investigations.About the BusinessThe Legal Professions Conduct Commissioner is tasked withregulating the conduct of legal practitioners admitted and enrolledin South Australia as well as interstate and registered foreignlegal practitioners practising in South Australia. TheCommissioner investigates allegations of misconduct arising fromComplaints received and conducts own initiative investigationswhere no complaint has been received but the Commissioner otherwisehas sufficient information to suspect that misconduct hasoccurred.For more information about the Legal Profession ConductCommission and the operation of his office please visit .Special Conditions for EmploymentEmployment is dependent upon a National Police Certificateclearance that the Commissioner finds satisfactory. Successfulapplicants will be provided further information if an interview isrequested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police(SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicantsin doing so will not be recoverable from the Commissioner.Some out of hours work may be required.Some intrastate travel may be required.Admitted or eligible for admission as a practitioner of theSupreme Court of South Australia.Experience in drafting of substantial legal documents.Considerable knowledge of several areas of law.Experience in providing legal advice and the conduct ofcomplex cases.Experience in the preparation and conduct oflitigation.The South Australian public sector promotes diversity andflexible ways of working, including part-time.
