Projects may investigatehow the inflammasome contributes to controlling chronic inflammatory diseases,the molecular mechanisms driving neuroinflammation, and other ways the innateimmune system contributes to disease.Typicalactivities for this role include:Cellular models of neuroinflammation(eg. Immortalised cell lines, iPSC, patient cells)Biochemical analysis of inflammation(eg. Western, ELISA, FACS, CRISPR, QPCR)Develop & maintain procedures,protocols, systems and/or equipmentProvide specialized technical servicesPrepare reports and documentsAssist students with laboratoryrequirementsOperate specialized equipment and/orsoftwareUndertake research & project workThe role will suit someone who:Degree qualification with significantrelevant work experience; or substantial experience and expertise in a similarroleCan perform specialised tasks whichrequire specific knowledge and proficiency in the work areas rules,regulations, processes and techniquesCan adapt procedures and techniques inconsultation with others to achieve objectivesCan prepare technical reports and datato a level appropriate for presentation/publicationWill contribute intellectual input intothe technical aspects of the Institutes research activitiesEMPLOYMENT TERMSThis position is a fixed term contract role in a full timecapacity. Salary is based on Research Support Group RSS X to RSS Z (dependant on experience).
