This is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving finance team in an Assistant Accountant-style role, where mentorship, professional development, and internal progression are ongoing priorities.My client is looking to bring on an Assistant Accountant in a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity, focusing on month-end processes, reconciliations, and supporting the transactional AP & AR teams as needed - alongside reporting and hands-on involvement in process improvement initiatives.Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):Assisting with month-end close processes, including journal preparation and postingPerforming a range of reconciliations, including general ledger, balance sheet, and intercompany accountsDaily receipting across multiple entities and bank accountsSupporting the finance team in identifying and resolving reconciliation discrepanciesSupporting statutory accounting functions including BAS, GST, and payroll tax on a monthly and quarterly basisAssisting the AP and AR teams when required - particularly with invoice uploads into key customer and supplier portalsThe ideal candidate will have:3 + years of experience in a similar, all-rounder Assistant Accountant or Accountant role, including exposure to month-end, reconciliations, BAS, GST, payroll tax, and transactional finance functionsHigh attention to detail, with strong initiative and accountability in daily tasksExperience with SME systems such as MYOB will be highly regardedStrong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, etc.)Exposure to process improvements or system implementations is a plusWhats in it for you?Be part of a stable and growing Australian business with major government and commercial clientsA genuine temp-to-perm opportunity with a leader who prioritises the growth and development of their team - both personally and professionallyLong-term growth plans and the chance to step up internally as the business continues to expandIf this opportunity sounds like the right fit, please apply using the link below.
