The National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance (NCIRS) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Executive Officer to provide high-level executive support to the NCIRS Director.In this pivotal role, you will manage complex multi-stakeholder engagements, streamline project management systems, and ensure effective communication across internal teams and externally spanning state, national, and international partners, including government departments. You will play a key role in supporting the NCIRS Executive Management Team and the Head of Business and Research Operations, while overseeing the Executive Administration and Project Officer.Key Responsibilities IncludeManaging and triaging correspondence and workflow on behalf of the DirectorCoordinating responses and acting as a central point of contact for stakeholdersSupporting executive meetings and tracking progress on action itemsContributing to strategic projects, briefings, and presentationsEnsuring compliance with information standards and confidentiality protocolsThis is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficient functioning of a leading public health research organisation and help drive impactful immunisation research and policy.What You''ll Be DoingThe Senior Executive Officer NCIRS will provide high-level executive support to the Director of the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance (NCIRS). The role will manage and triage multi- stakeholder engagements, develop project management systems, provide technical support and develop and maintain effective working relationships internally within NCIRS, and externally across the state, national and international organisations and national and state government departments. The role will be key to ensuring efficient workflow across NCIRS and have key linkages with the NCIRS Executive Management Team and support the NCIRS Head of Business and Research Operations. The role will manage the Executive Administration and Project Officer.About NCIRSThe National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance (NCIRS) is the leading organisation in Australia in immunisation and vaccines that provides expert advice to support evidence-informed immunisation policy and guideline development, evaluation of immunisation programs, particularly the National Immunisation Program, and the monitoring of vaccine-preventable diseases, vaccine coverage and factors impacting uptake, and vaccine safety. NCIRS has national and international recognition in this arena and has a growing program of international work, focused on providing technical support for immunisation system strengthening to countries in the Indo-Pacific region.NCIRS is a collaborative team of experts in public health, biostatistics, infectious diseases, paediatrics, internal medicine, epidemiology, communication, social science and quantitative and qualitative research and survey methods. www.ncirs.org.auThe Centre is based within the Division of Research of the Sydney Children''s Hospitals Network, Westmead Campus, NSW, Australia, but has an all-age research remit and is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health and the Sydney Institute for Infectious Diseases (Sydney ID) at the University of Sydney. NCIRS is funded primarily by the Australian Government and NSW Government, as well as via grants from WHO, Gavi, and research granting bodies.Relevant degree or significant experience in providing high-level executive support and management experience in health, research or an academic environment.Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate, consult and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated problem-solving skills with an ability to exercise sound judgment in a complex environment.Excellent written communication skills with demonstrated experience in editing and writing a range of documents including high-level correspondence and visual presentations and advanced computer skills.Demonstrated high level analytical, planning, and conceptual skills with the ability to succinctly communicate complex information.Demonstrated exceptional time management and organisational skills, with the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities, complex and varied requirements.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.Experience or understanding of ethics requirements, grant systems, and high-level competence with desktop software, including exceptional experience in managing complex and high volume email correspondence.For roles that require formal qualifications, please note that overseas qualifications must be assessed by the Department of Education or the relevant authority appointed by the Australian Government for skilled migration purposes.SCHN is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values diversity - we acknowledge the vibrancy that a diverse workforce brings to enhance both our workplace culture and our service delivery to children, young people and their families and carers.
