Project descriptionA leading global FMCG brand is seeking a Category Analyst to support their Grocery business unit in Australia. Reporting to the Head of Category Development, this role is pivotal in delivering insight-led recommendations to drive growth across major grocery retailers.The consultant will partner with Category Development Leads to analyse current performance and future trends (018 month horizon), supporting the development and execution of category strategies and retail-facing initiatives. This is a high-impact role suited for an analytical, detail-oriented professional with FMCG and grocery experience.Ideal for a consultant with strong stakeholder engagement skills, experience in a blue-chip FMCG/CPG business, and a passion for turning data into commercial action.Key ActivitiesAnalyse grocery category, customer, and channel performance to uncover trends and future growth opportunities.Deliver regular reporting and lead improvements using automation and predictive analytics.Support planograms, range reviews, and category initiatives based on segmentation, shopper behaviour and retailer-specific insights.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop data-driven category strategies and customer recommendations.Apply tools like Nielsen, Quantium, and Synergy to support customer-level analysis and strategic "test and learn" initiatives.Bridge long-term strategy and short-term execution by aligning insights with 018 month planning cycles.Contribute to global-to-local in-store leadership frameworks, especially across aisle conversion and secondary display strategy.Your BackgroundEssential:3+ years experience in FMCG/CPG industry, ideally in category, data, sales or marketing roles.Proven ability to interpret and translate data into actionable insights for commercial execution.Hands-on experience with syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, IRI) and customer analytics.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence both internal teams and retailer contacts.Based in Australia or available to work to AEST hours in a hybrid (preferred) or remote capacity.Desirable:Experience working with top grocery retailers (e.g., Woolworths, Coles).Familiarity with visual merchandising tools and category planning platforms.Exposure to global FMCG practices and category visioning.Stakeholder management within cross-functional teams including Marketing, SRM, and Customer Development. #J-18808-Ljbffr
