Fourteen Degrees plays a critical role in supporting this global reach by providing high-quality, integrated wine logistics services for both domestic and international distribution.About the Role:As the Supply & Distribution Manager at Fourteen Degrees Wine Logistics Pty Ltd, the role will focus on leading global wine distribution for the parent company Rathbone Wine Group, by optimising international logistics and reducing freight costs, ensuring our premium wines reach key markets in Asia, Europe, and North America efficiently. It also encompasses warehousing management, where the successful candidate will implement best practices in inventory control and cold-chain storage, while transforming our Port Melbourne warehouse facility into a profit-generating 3PL hub. Additionally, the role will drive the development of a China-focused B2C e-commerce strategy, including cross-border logistics, trade compliance, and customer experience, with the goal of building up e-commerce logistics channels by 2026.The Supply & Distribution Manager will be responsible for the following:1. Global Wine Distribution:Overseeing international logistics operations, including sea freight (both FCL and LCL) and air freight for urgent shipments, to build efficient, cost-effective supply chains that deliver our premium wines to markets across Asia, Europe, and North America. The candidate is expected to drive significant cost reductions, with a target of lowering overall logistics expenses by 20%. The role also contributes to the planning of supply and distribution strategies across business units and liaises with internal teams to align logistics operations with company-wide objectives.2. Distribution Centre Setup in Key Markets:Establishing distribution centres in major markets to shorten delivery times, avoid urgent air freight and courier services, and improve overall cost efficiency. This includes auditing local warehouses and working closely with 3PL vendors to ensure accurate inventory control and consistently high standards in order picking, repacking, delivery performance and service quality. The role is also responsible for coordinating outbound shipping schedules with internal demand forecasts and overseeing record-keeping of all international freight movements.3. Warehousing Management:Establishing best practices in inventory control, storage optimization, and cold-chain management to ensure product quality and availability in both domestic and export markets. In addition, the role will more efficiently and cost-effectively run our 10000 square meters warehouse including chiller room on Port Melbourne. We plan to develop some 3PL services to fully utilize our warehouse space, generate more cash flow and profit. The role includes directing warehouse personnel and monitoring their performance to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.Launching and managing e-commerce platforms tailored to the Chinese market, including cross-border logistics, digital marketing strategies, trade compliance and customer service frameworks to capture and grow direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales in China. We plan to double our current sales revenue in China in Year 2026.The role will also monitor system data related to cross-border inventory levels, reordering cycles, and fulfillment timelines to support operational efficiency.Developing and implementing a digital transformation strategy by deploying warehouse management and tracking system, integrated with online sales platforms and logistics partners, to enhance supply chain performance and achieve cost advantages.What you will need:SKILLS & ExperienceExperience in setting up and scaling distribution centres or a solid track record in warehouse management and order fulfillment.Strong knowledge of freight cost optimization strategies and ability to manage multi-regional logistics across Asia, Europe, and North AmericaFamiliarity with Incoterms, customs clearance, international trade compliance and customs regulations of e-commerce in China.Solid experience in evaluating and managing logistics vendors.Understanding of cross-border e-commerce logistics for the Chinese marketAbility to analyse logistics cost drivers and implement cost-saving measuresExperience with P&L responsibility or warehouse ROI improvement skilled in managing multiple logistics projects simultaneously.
