The Head of SCM is responsible for leading and optimizing the supply chain operations for Melbourne Product Manufacturing. This role involves overseeing the end-to-end supply chain process, including sourcing, procurement, planning, inventory management, logistics, and warehousing.Your responsibilities:SourcingLead sourcing activities including negotiations, costing, vendor selection etc.Participate in the selection of suppliers by analysis, evaluation, and handle operational relations and interfaces with selected suppliersSupplier developmentEvaluate supplier cost structures and negotiate pricing agreements.Collaborate with suppliers to identify and implement cost reduction initiatives.Assess and mitigate risks related to supplier pricing and contracts.Establish strong relationships with key suppliers, improve the overall supplier relationship management.ProcurementOversee the procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of raw materials and componentsMonitor and manage procurement budgets to ensure cost efficiencyExpedite Purchase Orders to ensure on-time-delivery, this includes physical visits to suppliers to check on progress.Inventory management & LogisticsDevelop and manage inventory control processes to ensure optimal stock levels and reduce carrying costs.Analyze inventory data to forecast demand and adjust inventory strategies as needed.Ensure alignment between production schedules and inventory levels to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.Follow up with logistics to ensure timely inward & outward deliveriesWhat you bring:Functional CompetencyEnterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as Epicor and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)Import buying, custom related transactions, trade laws etc.Cost analysis of supply chain operationsStay current with industry trends and advancements in SCMBehavioural CompetencyStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to make data-driven decisionsPlanning & organization skillsEntrepreneurial and commercial thinkingKey MetricsIdentify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize costsDevelop and drive KPIs related to supply chain costsPrepare & report on supply chain metrics, performance, and initiativesWhat we offer: Competitive remuneration package on offer.
