Add expected salary to your profile for insightsThe Executive Officer leads the strategic management of the Deputy CEOs office, exercising a high degree of autonomy and judgment in overseeing complex cross-agency initiatives, coordinating strategic priorities, and influencing decision-making across AUSTRAC and portfolio partners.As the Executive Officer, you will lead and support the office of the Deputy CEO in the management and coordination of executive and ministerial correspondence, briefing notes, submissions and reports on complex policy issues, business priorities and other issues.You will demonstrate resilience, flexibility and composure in the face of shifting priorities as well as exercise sound judgement, pragmatism, discretion and use creativity to develop solutions that meet multiple interests. All responsibilities and duties will be undertaken with consideration to how they may affect and/or relate to other divisions, the agency, and portfolio.A merit pool will be created to fill multiple positions available across the agency.What are we looking forWhile we are looking for these capabilities, we consider transferrable skills and encourage applicants who embodyAUSTRAC''s culture and values to apply.Policy - Leads the development and evaluation of complex policy advice for executive and ministerial consideration and manages the implications of evolving environmental, legislative and political contexts.Communicates Effectively Demonstrates consistent, clear and meaningful communication across the agency and represents AUSTRAC in a professional manner.Persuade and Influence - Demonstrates a sound understanding of negotiation position and a clear grasp of key issues, likely arguments and areas for compromise.Environmental Scanning - Actively maintains awareness of events within and external to AUSTRAC, effectively identifying those that may have an impact and understands the internal and external factors influencing AUSTRAC and aligns organisational operations accordingly.Key DutiesThe duties of the Executive Officer are:Lead the strategic planning and coordination of initiatives across the Deputy CEOs portfolio, ensuring alignment with AUSTRACs enterprise priorities and the broader national security context.Represent the Deputy CEO in high-level internal and external forums, including cross-agency working groups, interdepartmental committees, and ministerial engagements.Provide authoritative advice and briefings to senior executives and ministers on complex, sensitive or high-risk issues, with accountability for shaping outcomes.Exercise delegation and decision-making authority on behalf of the Deputy CEO, including oversight of divisional governance, budget allocations, workforce planning and risk mitigation.Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lead reform projects within the Deputy CEOs Office to enhance the agencys agility, coordination and strategic delivery.To be eligible for this role you:Must be an Australian citizen at the time you apply.Will need to undertake AUSTRACs pre-engagement checks.Will need to obtain and maintain an ongoing Negative Vetting 1 ClearanceWhy AUSTRAC?Flexible, hybrid work environment:We are committed to providing flexibility in working arrangements to recognise the importance of balancing work commitments with family, caring and other personal commitments of employees outside of work.
