You will be contributing to our role as the national regulator to safeguard and protect older Australians receiving aged care services.Regulatory Strategy and Policy (RSP) Group:The Regulatory Strategy and Policy (RSP) Group is a dynamic, committed, and diverse group with a broad range of roles, expertise, and skills, focused on supporting the Commission to deliver on its strategic goals. The group guides and supports regulatory teams to ensure that regulatory practice is lawful, best practice, timely, proportionate, consistent, and accurate, and develops the policy and tools to focus the Commissions activities on the areas of greatest risk to consumers. Regulatory Strategy and Policy establishes and influences legislation, regulatory reform, policies and procedures, and rules and standards, and provide insights on sector performance to drive a learning system in the delivery of quality care. Drawing inputs from across the Commission, Regulatory Strategy and Policy drives intelligence-led regulation, drawing inputs from across the organisation to improve services and outcomes for those in aged care, and form strategic and research partnerships to develop, inform and enhance sector performance and regulatory practice.Purpose of position:This position will report directly to the Executive Director of the RSP Group and manage a small team as part of the Executive Unit.The successful applicant will work effectively with Commission executives, corporate services, staff across all offices, and with key external stakeholders with a focus on supporting the RSP Group to operate efficiently and effectively in fulfilling its corporate, strategic and operational responsibilities in the Commission. Some (but not frequent) interstate travel is involved.Key Accountabilities:Work closely with the Executive Director to identify business priorities and actively support the groups strategic directionSupervise and oversee the operations of the RSP Group Executive Unit and manage the performance and day-to-day activities of the Executive Assistant and Executive Support Officer.Work closely with RSP staff to develop and maintain business systems which ensure the groups accountabilities and functions are met, including tracking the program work across the five sections of RSP, monitoring deliverables, risk planning and managementCoordinate reporting and advice on the RSP group work program for the Executive Leadership Group, Project Management and Transformation Office, and Corporate and operational plans including performance measures.Support the RSP Group executive team and managers to maintain and develop workforce capability and capacityDrive technology and innovation solutions to enhance work practices in the group including building the related capability in project managementFacilitate effective communications and information sharing within the groupSupport the Executive Director and Directors to manage and monitor the groups budget including tracking and reporting on budgets, project expenditure and procurementSupport the Executive Director to prepare for internal and external meetings, including preparing and/or coordinating presentations and papersDevelop and deliver strategic projects for the group as requiredCoordinate, manage and review correspondence and ministerial requests requiring the Executive Directors attentionDevelop and produce material for the Executive Director. This may include reports, emails, correspondence, briefs, presentations and staff messagesOversee the provision of secretariat support and planning for RSP Group meetingsRepresent the Executive Director in a professional, respectful and courteous manner, developing and enhancing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Key Capabilities:Experience leading a team and/or working with executives and across organisationsA high level, or the ability to quickly acquire, understanding of the Commissions role, its strategic objectives, processes and peopleExcellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skillsAbility to communicate with influence and work collaboratively to resolve complex issuesStrong organisational, business, administrative and IT skills and experience in developing and managing reporting solutionsExperience and skills in project management or willingness to acquire.Position Notes:Salary offered will be between $118,588 - $135,251per annum depending on skills and experience.
