Our business has recently revisited our values with purpose of globalising an iconic Australian brand.The Opportunity:The Group General Manager Procurement provides strategic leadership for procurement excellence across four divisions, driving best-in-class supplier performance and cost efficiency through the design and execution of robust, integrated sourcing strategies.This role is responsible for embedding a consistent procurement framework across all categories and suppliers, aligning sourcing with business demand, sustainability goals, and financial targets. As the functional lead for Group Procurement, the role ensures cross-functional alignment between Commercial, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to support informed executive decision-making.A key focus is on optimizing supplier relationships, improving cost transparency, ensuring supply continuity, and driving efficiencies to release working capital while maintaining quality and service levels.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership & Category ManagementDevelop and implement procurement strategies that span direct and indirect categories, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and growth plans.Establish and embed robust category management frameworks to drive long-term value, innovation, and supplier performance.Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to inform sourcing decisions, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and maintain competitive advantage.Ensure procurement is positioned as a strategic business partner across all divisions, contributing to strategic planning, budgeting, and transformation initiatives.Oversee the development of category plans that address cost, quality, innovation, and sustainability priorities.Build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships that support innovation, continuity of supply, and commercial agility.Negotiate and manage key supplier contracts, ensuring favourable terms, strong performance metrics, and alignment with risk and compliance frameworks.Embed risk management practices across sourcing, including assessments for geopolitical, financial, and operational risks.Ensure compliance with relevant legal, ethical, and regulatory standards, including modern slavery, ESG, and responsible sourcing requirements.Lead the development of supplier segmentation and performance evaluation processes to ensure clear accountability and continuous improvement.Lead enterprise-wide initiatives to reduce total cost of ownership while ensuring quality, service, and compliance.Leverage analytics and cost modelling to identify sourcing opportunities, efficiency improvements, and supplier consolidation.Optimise contract structures, commercial terms, and sourcing strategies to deliver sustained savings and protect margins.Drive improved cash flow through payment term management, inventory control in collaboration with supply planning, and strategic buying decisions.Partner with Finance to forecast savings, validate business cases, and embed cost controls within procurement processes.Cross-Functional CollaborationAct as a key partner to Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, and R&D to align procurement strategies with business needs and operational realities.Participate in integrated business planning (IBP), demand forecasting, and production planning processes to ensure sourcing strategies meet volume, quality, and timing requirements.Collaborate on NPD (New Product Development) projects to ensure supplier engagement, commercial readiness, and cost competitiveness from concept to launch.Provide procurement insights and reporting to executive leadership to support strategic decision-making and risk management.Facilitate clear communication channels between procurement and internal stakeholders to promote transparency, accountability, and shared outcomes.Team Leadership & Capability BuildingLead and develop a high-performing procurement team, ensuring clear roles, succession planning, and development pathways.Set and communicate expectations around accountability, performance, and ethical standards.Promote a learning culture that embraces innovation, digitisation, and continuous improvement.Invest in building procurement capabilities across the organisation through training, coaching, and systems improvements.Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment that attracts and retains top talent and reflects company values.The successful candidate will have:Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business or Supply ChainMBA certification an advantageSME in Procurement (process and systems)Experience working in (or with) manufacturing environmentsAdvanced analytical skills (e.g. MS Excel)Proven team leadership skillsOur Culture:Our employees come from all walks of life, across many cultures and backgrounds.
