Check on the progress of your applicationApply now Job no: 493839Work type: Full time ongoingLocation: Melbourne - CBDCategories: Facilities & OH&SFull time ongoing positionOpportunity to work in one of Melbournes most iconic venuesLocated in the heart of the Arts Precinct with easy access to public transportAbout the RoleIn the Building Maintenance Officer position, you will carry out a variety of duties including maintenance of building fabric, furniture and fittings for our theatres, as well as general building maintenance in various venues, including the State Theatre , Hamer Hall and Sidney Myer Music Bowl .Working as part of the Facilities team, the Building Maintenance Officer will work efficiently to deliver the highest standards, meet the building maintenance requirements, while ensuring a safe and effective working environment.To be successful you will require:A trade qualification in Carpentry/Cabinet Making or relevant trade certificate or equivalent experienceExperience with and knowledge of safe work practices in accordance with OH&S legislation and regulationsExperience undertaking Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS)A high level of understanding and actioning of task prioritisation and a high level of understanding and commitment to customer service are essential.Good communication skills are important, as the successful candidate will be interacting with a variety of people across the organisationSound computer skills in using asset information management system would be an advantage.This role is part of the Facilities Management Services team.
