Join to apply for the Assistant Chief Engineer - Key Center role at The Millennia Companies1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the Assistant Chief Engineer - Key Center role at The Millennia CompaniesThe Millennia Commercial Group is looking for an experienced Assistant Chief Engineer to join our team at our hotel in Downtown Cleveland.The Assistant Chief Engineer provides dedicated expertise in general property maintenance and operating access control systems, fire alarm/life safety systems and Building Automation Systems. Reporting to Chief Engineer, they are responsible to maintain the hotels interior and exterior, and for directly supervising engineering department employees.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist with monthly or periodic inspections of building systems, HVAC, electrical distribution, structural system, vertical transportation, roofs, parapets, gutters and leaders, parking area, drainage, ramps, and approaches, irrigation and Fire/Life Safety, Water treatment, HVAC controls and Plumbing systems.Estimate, complete and/or delegate mechanical or cosmetic project and tasks, ensuring scope, plans, materials and workmanship are in compliance with applicable compliance codes, ordinances, standards and requirements.Must be able to take initiative to analyze requests, issues and emergencies and to make quick technical decisions based on circumstances.Provide input to enhance departmental processesEvaluate workload and plans, directing and coordinating maintenance operations of building plumbing, heating, ventilation, AC and ancillary systems and infrastructure equipment.Maintain mechanical equipment rooms to ensure clean and safe conditions.Maintain all repair records and other documentation for the building, including up to date drawings, as mandated.Assume responsibility in Chief Engineer''s absence and participate in hotel meetings as required. assigned by the Chief Engineer.Required Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor or advanced degree strongly preferred4 years experience working in building management/engineeringTechnical certification and advanced knowledge of building maintenance and mechanical engineering and repairPrevious Engineering department experience within a hotel environmentExceptional written and verbal communication skillsStrong leadership skills and previous experience in managing a large teamWork Conditions & Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear, and taste or smell.
