Alfred Health Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. * Fixed Term Full Time (1.0 EFT) Until July 2026 * Salary Package: $92k - $102k + Superannuation * Great Staff Benefits! * Located at The Alfred The Department The Alfred Department of Intensive Care is a state of the art 68-bed unit that treats around 4,000 patients per year. We provide Victorian state services for major trauma heart and lung transplantation (and national paediatric lung transplantation), mechanical circulatory supports, extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), burns and hyperbaric medicine. The Alfred Hospital is also a state service provider for HIV and bone marrow transplantation (autologous and allogeneic). In addition, most other surgical and medical subspecialties are represented in the case-mix, in keeping with the quaternary referral centre status of The Alfred Hospital. The Role The Manager will provide leadership, coordination and operational oversight of the Centres staff and activities to to establish the Centre as a substantive Alfred Health initiative. The Manager is responsible for the coordination of the Centre to assist in the establishment of the Centre as a substantive Alfred Health initiative. Key aspects of the role will be working with the Centre Clinical Lead and respective Program Leads to: * Oversee management of Programs consistent with the Centres strategic objectives * Coordinate and present to stakeholders the annual budget and a sustainable funding strategy * Assist individual workstreams with human and other resourcing, and infrastructure planning * Ensure ongoing brand development and communications The Manager may be required to function independently in a range of responsibilities including personnel, finance, communications and stakeholder relations. Qualifications and Experience Required * Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Management, Administration, or other justifiable areas) * Significant leadership experience in the health sector * Commercial business management experience, preferably in health or education settings * Proven success in establishing or expanding large-scale programs of work or multi-partner research/academic initiatives, particularly in a business development capacity * Solid understanding of accountancy principles and budgetary practices within public health environments * Demonstrated expertise in project and program management, with a track record of designing, implementing, and monitoring complex, large-scale programs * Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, manage time effectively, and deliver on multiple, competing work agendas * Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing multi-disciplinary teams, along with high levels of independence, judgement, and initiative * Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with an understanding of confidentiality, privacy, and information handling standards * Highly developed relationship management skills, including the ability to interact with, influence, and negotiate at senior levels * Executive-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce a variety of documents for different audiences and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes on complex issues Staff Benefits * Salary packaging & novated leasing through Maxxia * Flexible health insurance coverage through HCF Health Insurance * Onsite car and bike parking opportunities, deducted pre-tax!! * Fantastic onsite fitness facilities at The Alfred through ProSport health and fitness * Childcare services at The Alfred managed by KU Childrens Services If applicable, specify specific requirements that you require in the cover letter or CV.
