Job Description

The General Manager is responsible for the management, coordination and service delivery of Bondi Icebergs Club ensuring that the Club achieves its strategic goal - of being an active member of the local community by investing time and resources in addressing community needs.Reporting to the Bondi Icebergs President, the General Manager provides leadership for the Club, its members, staff and the broader community in the areas of strategic management, board governance, budget management and continuous service improvement.The General Manager supports the Board and is responsible for ensuring the organisation maintains a presence within the local community and is able to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future.The role is expected to ensure responsibilities as defined in the constitution for the General Manager/Club Secretary are completed.The role is dynamic and innovative.Key Responsibilities;1. Strategic Management- Working with the Board and other senior staff to facilitate the strategic planning process for the Club, and setting objectives and priorities for the development and implementation of programs across the Club- Facilitating participation by all interested stakeholders to ensure the achievement of the strategic plan- Facilitating consultation to establish and maintain an environment which promotes mutual respect and trust among all Club stakeholders2. Board Reporting and Governance- Providing advice, policy development and decision making support to the Board- Assisting the Board in matters of Corporate Governance- Assisting the Board in the implementation of a risk management strategy which encompasses all aspects of the Clubs operations- Informing the Board of major issues which may affect the operations of the Club- Presenting annual plans and budgets, consistent with the Clubs strategic direction and policies, to the Board- Communicating information and decisions from the Board to relevant employees- Attending meetings of the Board and other meetings as required;- Overseeing the provision of regular comprehensive financial and operational reports to the Board in a timely manner.- Full understanding and demonstrated implementation of the Icebergs Constitution.- Full understanding and demonstrated compliance with Registered Clubs Accountability Code (RCAC), ClubsNSW Code of Practice and any other relevant legislation.3. Budgeting and Financial Management- Preparing annual budgets with the Icebergs Treasurer managing to approved annual budgets- Authorising expenditure within budgets approved by the Board- Interpreting information to appraise operating results in terms of revenue, cost, budgets, trends and possibilities for improvement in service operation- Making recommendations to the Board concerning management of funds, financial policy and long term planning strategies4. General Administration- Ensuring that the Club''s policies, procedures and practices are available and articulated effectively throughout the organisation- Identifying and monitoring changes to relevant legislation and identify new legislation which may have an impact on the Club''s services- Assisting all management and staff in matters of corporate governance- Ensuring that the Club acts in compliance with statutory requirements- Ensuring that the Club''s risk management strategy is subject to ongoing evaluation and review- Providing leadership and support to managers and other staff- Promoting communication throughout the Club to improve and maintain a positive work ethic among management and staff- Ensuring that staff are provided with appropriate training and staff development opportunities;- Applying the information technology system that enables The Club to operate its services in an optimal manner.- Ensuring that any grievance and complaints procedures are implemented appropriately- Ensuring all maintenance providers are selected and responsible for delivering a high standard of facility maintenance at all times.- Ensuring a monthly schedule of works is available for the Board of Directors5. Community Liaison- Promoting and representing the Club within the local community- Maintaining key stakeholder relationships which influence the opportunities available to expand the Clubs revenue and reach- Attending major events and key functions as the primary representative of the Club6. Safety, Health and Environment- Promoting and adhering to safe work practices to create a safe work environment- Assisting with WHS continuous improvement/best practice initiatives across all areas of the Club- Contributing to a safety conscious cultureThe candidates must be flexible, highly motivated, possess emotional intelligence, maturity, sense of humour and willingness to subscribe to the Bondi Icebergs Club mission and values. #J-18808-Ljbffr
