Hudson is looking out for a Data Engineer & Platform Lead for a Government Client.Location: Melbourne, Victoria (Hybrid work arrangements available)Top 5 Must-Have Criteria:Expertise in Microsoft Fabric EcosystemHands-on experience managing and developing within Microsoft Fabric, including components like Dataflows, Pipelines, and Lakehouses.Strong Data Engineering SkillsProficiency in SQL, DAX, Power Query, and preferably Python, with demonstrated capability in building and maintaining complex data pipelines.Experience with Lakehouse ArchitectureDeep understanding of the Bronze (raw), Silver (cleansed), and Gold (curated) data layers, and experience managing multi-layered data models.Cloud and Microsoft Data ToolsFamiliarity with Microsoft Power BI, Azure Data Factory, and Synapse Analytics (integration, transformation, reporting).Data Governance and Security KnowledgeUnderstanding of governance, security, and compliance requirements, particularly in a public sector or regulated environment.Key Selection CriteriaTechnical ExpertiseDemonstrated experience in managing and developing solutions within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.Strong proficiency in data engineering tools and languages such as SQL, DAX, Power Query, and Python.Experience with data lakehouse architecture and managing multi-layered data models (Bronze, Silver, Gold).Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and related technologies.Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in a government or regulated environment.Analytical and Problem-Solving SkillsProven ability to analyse complex data problems and design effective, scalable solutions.Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.Communication and CollaborationExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities.Adaptability and LearningEnthusiastic about learning new technologies and applying them to solve real-world problems.Ability to adapt to changing business needs and technology landscapes.Qualifications and ExperienceTertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 35 years of experience in data engineering or analytics roles, preferably within the public sector or large enterprise environments.Microsoft certifications in Azure or Fabric technologies (desirable).HOW TO APPLY:Please submit your resume (in MS Word Format) for consideration via the link below.
