We work closely with our stakeholders to help them understand their technology costs and deliver current and future strategic and financial plans.Your team forms part of the wider Tech Finance Team of approximately 90 people and provides business partnering and financial management services to Technology and Business Unit CIOs.Your teams primary role is to:Support Technology leadership team with Finance managementProvide insights, analysis and advice in relation to past and future financial performanceProvide robust financial control and effective management reportingProvide decision support and reporting for Technology strategic initiatives and investment programsDevelop and deliver meaningful insights to drive better business outcomes and provide commercial support, including cost optimisation and simplificationProvide guidance and advice to the business leaders on the financial performance of the business, the financial plans and forecasts and the financial impacts of change initiativesTechnology Finances mission is to influence strategic outcomes through transparent insights and passionate people.Do work that mattersThis role is responsible for assisting the Senior Manager in provide financial and business partnering support to areas within Business Banking Technology. BB Tech supports the Business Banks technology services including Digital, CommSec, Business Lending, Customer Channel and Data, Everyday Business Banking and Payments. You will be contributing to the business priorities by providing insight and supporting stakeholders with financial outcomes related to expense management and commercials of Technology.To deliver on outcomes, you will have effective relationships across the broader Technology Finance team, as well as other teams across Financial Services (incl. Group Finance).See yourself in our teamThe role includes, but is not limited, to the following:Reporting to the Senior Manager you will assist in business partnering to the Business Bank Technology leadership team with an spend of +$0.5bnPreparation and presentation of monthly financial results and analysis for both BAU and investment spend to Technology, Business Unit and Finance General ManagersUnderstanding underlying drivers of performance and variances to Plan and assisting in discussions with the BusinessProviding timely and relevant financial information and insights, analysis and advice as and when required to support timely and effective decision makingDriving the month end process including the preparation / review of month end journals, undertaking general ledger reviews, completing variance analysis and submitting month end results to Centre FinanceCreation and delivery (in both verbal and written form) of crisp, concise and impactful material to assist in driving business outcomes and enhanced cost transparencyWorking closely with the business to develop meaningful driver based plans and forecasts in support of insightful analytics and business performance management, including the identification of cost savings and appropriate challenge of cost growthAbility to constructively challenge team and stakeholders as and when requiredEffective prioritisation skills used in conjunction with line manager prioritisationCollaborating with both Finance and Business stakeholders to drive business outcomes and become a trusted advisorEnsuring a strong financial control environment is maintained, including integrity of the general ledger, through extensive variance analysis and balance sheet review and challengeIdentifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities in analysis, reporting and financial controlUndertaking all activities in accordance with CommBank''s values and support the Group''s purposePositively contributing to the team culture and working environmentAdhering to the Code of Conduct, which sets the standards of behaviour, actions and decisions we expect from our peopleWere interested in hearing from people who haveStrong technical accounting knowledge, with an advantage including demonstrated experience in accounting and financial management (e.g. budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting and analysis)High degree of commercial acumen, with experience in Information Technology a distinct advantageExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsStrong stakeholder management skills with proven experience in advising, challenging and influencing senior stakeholders and business outcomes;Effective verbal and written communication skills including presenting to senior management and leadership teamsAdvanced level of Excel and PowerpointStrong commercial, accounting and financial management experience including financial modelling and analytical skills and understanding of operational business drivers;Knowledge of the financial services and / or technology industry, including technology developments that are impacting Financial Services would be desirable;Commercial finance experience, ideally within a large corporate in Financial Services and/or Technology; andRisk Mindset All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks**Apply Now to live your best life, by doing your best work with us! **If you''re already part of the Commonwealth Bank Group (including Bankwest, x15ventures), you''ll need to apply through Sidekick to submit a valid application.
