The ARDC is a transformational initiative that enables Australian research community and industry access to nationally significant, leading edge data intensive infrastructure, platforms, skills and collections of high-quality data.Position overviewThe Software Developer is part of a small software development team based in Canberra who is responsible for the development, delivery and maintenance of web-based national services that support research data discovery, connection, publishing, sharing and reuse. The Software Developer will work collaboratively as part of a high-functioning Agile team and will be responsible for contributing to the design, development and success of existing and new services that support the strategy of the ARDC.To excel in this role, you will have a proven background in developing and maintaining web applications in a Linux based environmentFront-end development using component-based frameworks (e.g. React)Designing responsive, user-friendly interfaces using HTML/CSS/BootstrapWorking with RESTful APIs and JSONUnderstanding of Spring Boot web applications and interaction across controller, service, and model layersExperience with database systems and their integration with web applications is also desirable.Location: based in the Canberra officeFor further information contact Liz Woods, DevOps Manager, ARDC NII Services, E: liz.woods@ardc.edu.au T: 61 2 6125 7425The University actively encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
