It provides exposure to on-call, theatres and registrar-level teaching in a supportive environment where senior residents are supported by registrars, and also gain insights into what it takes to become a good registrar and a successful application for the neurosurgical training program.Duties include:Assessing patients in clinic, emergency, planning operating schedulesOperating with various levels of supervisionmonitoring post-operative progress of patientsEnsure complete documentation of admission and progress notesEfficient running of day to day activities of the unitMentoring and teaching junior staffClassifications for this position will range from HM13 HM18 ($98,224.88 $149,885.84 per annum)Length of appointment: 02 February 2026 31 January 2027What You Will BringClassification of PGY3 or greaterFull working rights in AustraliaHold current AHPRA registrationMBBS or equivalentHold a current, or willing to undergo a satisfactory National Police CheckHave a commitment to deliver the best in patient care and safetyDemonstrated experience applying medical knowledge towards sound clinical diagnosis, investigation and treatment of patientsDemonstrated effective communication with patients, relatives, staff and colleaguesAbout The Neurosurgery DepartmentThe Neurosurgery department provides a complete range of acute and elective neurosurgical care to the entire state of Victoria.Sub specialisation within the team has allowed all neurological conditions to be cared for with the highest level of available expertise.
