Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategy and Corporate, with a dotted line to the CEO, this pivotal role will provide strategic and operational leadership across all people-related functions, including health, safety and wellbeing, injury management, human resources, payroll, employee relations, and learning and development. The role also plays a key part in driving organisational change, ensuring employees are supported and prepared for transformation that enhances service delivery. With a strong focus on collaboration and excellence, the Chief People Officer will build partnerships across the organisation and beyond to help deliver meaningful outcomes for both the workforce and the broader community.About YouThe ideal candidate will bring significant experience leading people and change functions within a Local Government setting. You will have strong expertise in organisational development, cultural transformation, and end-to-end industrial relations, including enterprise agreement negotiations. With exceptional interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, you will be able to build trusted relationships across complex stakeholder groups to deliver strategic people outcomes and foster a high-performing, values-aligned culture. You will have a track record of developing leadership capability within your teams and creating a highly engaged, customer-focused, and continuously improving workplace.To be considered for this role, you will be a strategic thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities and experience working within diverse communities and workforces.
