We cover general ophthalmology and a wide variety of subspecialty areas, including cataract & refractive surgery (Lenticule extraction, LASIK, surface laser, implantable collamer lenses, and refractive lens exchange), paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, Botox, medical retina, glaucoma, and corneal surgery (including transplants, intracorneal ring segments, corneal cross-linking, topo-guided PRK). There is a wide and varied range of clinical conditions and experience.Position Profile:This is an exciting opportunity for an orthoptist or orthoptic assistant to work with two ophthalmologists and an orthoptic team. We seek enthusiastic, self-motivated staff who are team players with good communication skills and a professional phone manner. The role involves close collaboration with ophthalmologists, focusing on patient care and satisfaction. The successful candidate will be dedicated, friendly, and committed to expanding our clinics and providing excellent patient care.Skills and Experience (desirable but not essential):Bachelor of Health Science Degree / relevant Orthoptics qualificationStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal skillsEffective time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skillsFlexibility to adjust hours according to clinical needsPrevious refractive surgery experience is advantageous but not mandatoryThe ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational abilities, a commitment to high-quality patient care, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Role Responsibilities (depending on experience and training):Patient history takingOrthoptic work-upsRefractions (automated phoropter & digital charts), VA, IOP checks (Goldmann and iCare tonometer)Humphrey Visual FieldsBiometry (Lenstar)Topography / Tomography, Corneal OCT tomographyWavefront aberrometrySpecular microscopySpectral domain OCT / OCT angiography / fundus camera / Optos widefield imaging / fluorescein angiography imagingHess tests and synoptophorePaediatric and strabismus assessmentsAssistance in procedures: intravitreal injections, collagen cross-linking, temporal artery biopsyUltrasound assistance A-scan (immersion and contact), anterior (UBM), and posterior segment B-scanCollaboration with ophthalmologists, orthoptists, and administrative staffBusiness and relationship developmentAd hoc administrative support as neededTraining will be provided.
