CRDVS at all times strives to uphold high levels of professionalism and accountability.How You''ll Make a DifferenceCRDVS is looking for a part-time Child and Youth Worker based in Mareeba, QLD, working 60 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE).This role reports to the Senior Practitioner and is responsible for delivering therapeutic interventions and counselling services to children and young people affected by domestic and family violence.More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:Developing and delivering trauma-informed counselling and group work interventionsSupporting carers of child witnesses through information sharing and advocacyEngaging with crisis intervention and safety planning as part of an integrated DFV responseCoordinating with Queensland Police and other services through embedded response workFacilitating community education and interagency collaboration to reduce DFV impactPreparing accurate case notes, assessments, and data reportingProviding leave relief in locations including Atherton, Cairns, Mossman, and courts as neededWhat You''ll Bring to the TeamOur ideal candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or a related discipline. As our Child and Youth Worker, you will have experience working with children and young people in a therapeutic context.The successful candidate will also have:A strong understanding of developmental stages for children, adolescents, and familiesA comprehensive understanding of gendered analysis in family violence and its specific impacts on children and young peopleA well-rounded knowledge of various counselling models and their theoretical frameworks, with particular emphasis on trauma-informed practiceFamiliarity with therapeutic approaches including play therapy, sand tray, or movement-based modalitiesPlease Note: All applicants must hold (or obtain) a current C Class driver''s licence, a Working With Children Card and a formal police criminal history check.Be RewardedCompensation based on skills and experience aligns with SCHADS Level 5, offering a competitive annual salary of $100,000 - $104,500 (pro rata for 0.8 FTE), and a host of excellent benefits including:12% Superannuation (as of July 1, 2025)Salary packaging up to $15,900Flexible working hours, 0.8 FTE with no after-hours requiredAdditional leave loadingA supportive team culture committed to equity, safety, and empowermentRelocation assistance considered for the right candidateIf you''re passionate about helping children heal from trauma and thrive, we want to hear from you.
