Commencing in early January 2026 the Heavy Diesel Fitter apprenticeship opportunities will be located at our two bauxite mines, Huntly and Willowdale mine sites.About the RoleAs part of this four-year Apprenticeship Program you will be:Provided on the job & formalised TAFE training, leading towards a nationally recognised trade certificate.Based in the main mobile workshop of one of Alcoas Bauxite mine sites.Trained in diagnostics, repairing engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic and electrical systems.Working on a variety of vehicles including heavy earth moving equipment, front end loaders, large ore carrying trucks, as well as four-wheel drive utility and passenger vehicles.Given additional training in fields associated with your trade, including vehicle auto-electrics, air conditioning, hydraulics and welding.Whats on offer?Provision of all your work clothing, PPE and tooling.Average working week of 36 hours.Flexibility to offer great work-life balance.Bring your whole self to work as we embrace all our differences.We invest in your career growth and development.Join us in proactively giving back to our local communities.Work locally and enjoy being home every night.What you can bring to the roleA high dedication and focus towards safety.A proven interest in heavy industry mechanical maintenance and fitting.Involvement in any related extracurricular activities or have gained relevant knowledge in that field.A current, valid Australian Learners Drivers Licence or working towards.Completed a minimum of year 10, with a high pass in Mathematics and EnglishSolid school attendance record.Completed a pre-apprenticeship, and relevant trade-based work experience is highly desirable.How to applyClick Apply and create a Workday account using your current email address.In the Quick Apply section please upload your most recent school grade report.
