Job Description

We are looking for a talented Support Care Officer to support the work of our Fundraising Department at the RSPCA.11th June, 2025As Supporter Care Officer at our Yagoona Shelter, you will provide support for the Fundraising department in processing donations, fulfilling event registration packs, coordinating departmental inbound and outbound daily mail, administration duties, responding to donor enquiries, and answering the donations phone line.About RSPCA NSWThe Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals New South Wales (RSPCA NSW) is a not-for-profit animal welfare organisation. RSPCA NSW is committed to the care and welfare of animals, providing extensive professional facilities, including fully equipped veterinary hospitals and our state-wide shelter network, with approximately 500 staff across NSW to care for animals.Why Work For Us?A broad range of leave entitlements including 12 weeks paid parental leaveAccess to a range of mental health and wellbeing supportive initiatives, including confidential counselling services and education programsGenerous discount on products and services, including pet food, retail and vet clinic products and servicesAccess to a range of learning and development opportunities that will benefit and support you in your roleStaff parking and a newly renovated work environmentAbout the RoleIn this role, you will be responsible for the following key accountabilities:Sort, open, and distribute mail on daily arrivalProcess donations and event registrations within an appropriate timeframe within SalesforcePost receipts and event registration packs accordinglyAnswer and respond to the Donations line and inbox, including voicemail messages within 24 hoursTake donations and event registrations over the phoneRespond to donor queries in a professional and courteous mannerComplete the donor thank-you process to an appropriate standardFollow up on declined transactions within 24 hoursMaintain databases with complete accuracy, including processing Return to SenderResearch other charities campaigns and donor care processes to stay updated with current market practicesAccept and act on managerial and customer feedback positivelyProvide ad-hoc administrative support to the Fundraising Team when requiredAbout YouYou will have confidence and strong communication skills to interact with both individuals and groups of all sizes.Certified in administration or equivalent (desired)Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite applicationsMinimum 1 year experience working in administration or secretarial rolesHigh level of communication and interpersonal skillsHigh level of attention to detailConflict resolution skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasksAbility to work autonomously and multitask, and contribute to a teamAn interest in animal welfareExperience working within Salesforce is desirable but not necessaryIf this sounds like the role for you, we would love to hear from you!
