This role involves using mowers, tractors, and weed spraying equipment to assist in the maintenance and upkeep of Councils parks, gardens, and open spaces.We are looking for a physically fit and safety-conscious operator who takes pride in their work and is committed to delivering high-quality service. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and care of plant and equipment, ensuring all tasks are carried out to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of Fairfields open spaces, providing essential services to the community. If you are motivated, proactive, and enjoy working as part of a team dedicated to maintaining and improving public spaces, we encourage you to apply.EssentialCurrent Class 1A drivers licenceDemonstrated experience operating large plant (Tractor) and equipment including operating out-front mowers plus attachments (typically 2 years).Operating minor plant and equipment.Good written and verbal communication skills for completing necessary paperworkSound knowledge and practical application of WHS principles and Work Health and Safety legislationDESIRABLECertificate II in Horticulture, Local Government or Green Keeping or relevant industry experienceExperience with operating weed spraying equipmentHold a current Chemcert (Chemical Handling) qualificationSalary & Employment ConditionsPermanent positions, 76 hours per fortnightThis position is a Grade B, salary range is $58,484 p.a. with progression to $62,949p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $68,468 p.a.A Uniform is providedOn the job training will be providedFURTHER CONTACTSEnquiries regarding the position or a position description is available by contacting Daniel McDonald on 02 9725 0397CLOSING DATE:4.00pm Friday 11 July 2025How To ApplyApplications must address the essential criteria in the position description.
