Join to apply for the Project Officer Facilities role at NSW State Emergency Service1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the Project Officer Facilities role at NSW State Emergency ServiceJoin a small team working to build the frameworks for good facilities asset management so our volunteers can effectively support their communitiesWork in a volunteer-based agency supporting communities of NSWFull time ongoing roleLocation is flexible: offices available at Rhodes, Goonellabah, Metford, Tamworth, Wagga, Dubbo, Goulburn and WollongongAbout the opportunityThe Facilities Strategy Project Officer will work with the team to support effective prioritisation and future planning for our facilities.Based on an understanding of operational needs and fit for purpose, you will help define facility requirements that guide the prioritisation of existing funding, support future funding requests and inform long-term plans for the maintenance and renewal of our facilities.You will contribute to a wide range of activities, including the definition of facility standards, development of collaboration processes with Zone staff, engagement with local councils, identification of funding opportunities, data collation and maintenance, support for condition reporting, and scoping of potential future works.The teams primary focus is on improving the condition of volunteer headquarters across more than 240 locations statewide. These sites operate from a diverse range of facilities, including heritage buildings, shipping containers, and shared sheds, in both metropolitan and remote areas.While these facilities are owned by local councils, drive for changes and planning of upgrades is led by the NSW SES. The diversity of capabilities and community needs across locations means that planning and decision making is highly complex and influenced by many factors.The team consists of the Principal Advisor Facilities Strategy and two Facilities Project Officers. Learn more hereAbout youTo be successful in this role you will:Ideally have experience in the facilities management or construction industryActively contribute to a collaborative team environment by bringing ideas, solutions and structured plans, developed through consideration of diverse perspectives and needs, to achieve shared outcomes.Productively work with some autonomy to deliver quality outcomes with a geographically widespread set of colleagues and stakeholdersHave the ability to organise and analyse technical information, opinions and broader influences to find effective and data-driven conclusionsBe comfortable with a wide range of technology and use it to effectively organise and communicate information in various formatsBe pragmatic, flexible, and able to consider practical solutions to technical challengeWhat we can offer youYou will enjoy a 35-hour work week, with the potential for flexible work arrangements depending on the requirements of the role and operational needsYou can enjoy a hybrid work environment, time in the office (locations across the state) and time working from home.
