As a liaison between the school and community, the AIEO works closely with teachers, students and families to develop culturally relevant educational programs that empower our Indigenous students to reach their full potential.Through mentoring and pastoral care, the AIEO provides support and guidance to Indigenous students, particularly those at risk, to encourage participation and achievement in the classroom. With a deep understanding of Indigenous culture and history, the AIEO brings a unique perspective to the school community, promoting respect, understanding and harmony.The successful candidate should ideally have a deep understanding of Noongar language and culture, a passion for Indigenous education, and a commitment to supporting Indigenous students, particularly those at risk, through mentoring and pastoral care. They will assist teachers in delivering culturally inclusive programs, strengthen relationships between the school and local Indigenous families, facilitate community involvement in shaping school policies, conduct home visits to support student progress and wellbeing, and provide staff orientation on Indigenous culture and history.
