The ideal candidate will have a passion for innovation, continuous improvement and the ability to manage varying levels of tasks.You will need to be a self-starter, who can take initiative in the management of the capture, sharing and improvement of knowledge resources. The goal of a knowledge manager is to help stakeholders to work efficiently and provide high quality and up to date work outputs. The knowledge lawyer will also play a part in the whole of firm execution of the new Knowledge Management Strategy.Purpose of the RoleThis role is an opportunity to build relationships and bring your own ideas to drive improvements. A collaborative group of knowledge colleagues across the firm will also be there to support you and exchange ideas and information.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrecedents: monitor for updates and manage interface between legal and precedents teamDraft minor updates for precedentsConsistency committee: manage project and engage with stakeholdersManage standard form contracts (including Australian Standards Contracts)Knowledge documents: elicit contributions and maintain our knowledge repository (including internal and external expert database and presentation database)Work with lawyers and consultants to establish efficient processes to capture key knowledge artefacts at all stages of an engagementPromote awareness of, assess and capture key precedents and knowledge documents from client transactionsLearning: graduate training bi-annual program. Manage speakers, topics and updating contentContinuing education: manage and mentor speakers with topics, content and presentation for internal and external presentationsCurrent awareness: monitor legislation and industry developments and prepare case law and general industry updates and publicationsNational Knowledge: execute the national knowledge strategy and contribute to firm wide knowledge and learning projectsKnowledge, Skills & ExperienceQualified lawyer with 5+ years of experienceSolutions focused, enthusiastic and capable of driving initiative and taking ownership of projectsCommitment to client and customer service you are here to make your team look betterPositive attitude and patience.
