Senior Clinician - Adult Community & Older Persons Mental Health ServiceFull-time PermanentCompetitive pay rates and excellent working conditions within a tertiary hospital.Salary Packaging with many options that provide full fringe benefits tax concessions.Flexible working conditions.11.5% Superannuation.Access to Employee Assistance Program.Access to discounted gym membership.Access to onsite Physiotherapists.Access to onsite cafes, staff cafeteria, pharmacy and gift shop.Up to $12K reimbursement of relocation expenses for interstate candidates (subject to review and approval).About the Role:This position is open to Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and Psychologists.This position is primarily located within the Older Persons Community Mental Health Team (OPMHCT) but staff may be required to work across all of Adult Community Mental Health Services to meet operational demands.OPMHCT are a multi-disciplinary team of Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, Psychiatry Registrars, Consultant Psychiatrists, Allied Health assistants, and Administration Service Officers.The OPMCHT operates across the Australian Capital Territory, adhering to the OPMHCT model of care. OPMHCT provides specialist advice, expertise, consultation to other health care providers, plus a range of interventions including assessment, advice, advocacy, short term treatment and interventions, intensive or assertive outreach treatment, clinical management, physical health review, care coordination and case review.This is a senior clinical position that will provide mental health services to people who present with highly complex mental health conditions, including the provision of advanced assessment, recovery planning, clinical coordination and therapeutic interventions to achieve sound outcomes for people, under minimal supervision. The successful applicant will conduct assessments and deliver face to face care and treatment to clients to enable the person to improve in social and other areas of functioning, require less hospital admissions and engage more actively in treatment. The participation of the people who use the service, including families and carers, is encouraged in all aspects of a persons care and you will work in partnership with a range of government and non-government service providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients. The applicant will be encouraged to fulfill the role of Mental Health Officer, executing processes under the MH Act.At this level, the successful applicant will provide high quality interventions and achieve sound outcomes for people under limited supervision, contribute to the multidisciplinary team processes, undertake professional development and professional supervision including the provision of supervision to staff at level HP1 & HP2, Allied Health Assistants and students, and participate in quality initiatives and strategic planning.Please note: Selection may be appointed using the written application and referee checks alone.Please note prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to:Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.Comply with CHS credentialing and scope of clinical practice requirements for allied health professionals.Note: This role will be filled at either Health Professional Level 3 or Psychologist Level P3 depending on qualifications and experience, in line with the Enterprise Agreement.For more information on this position and how to apply click here Canberra Health Services (CHS) is focussed on the delivery of high quality, effective, person centred care.
