From our centres in Kings Cross and Bondi and through outreach teams, we offer a range of support services that place dignity, respect, and love at the heart of what we do.Wayside Chapel are looking for a casual Retail Assistant to join our Op Shops located in Potts Point and Bondi. These are some of Sydneys most popular second-hand clothes destinations, with a curated range of eclectic, fashion leading, quality bargains. The Op Shops are an integral part of the Wayside organisation. You will work alongside Wayside volunteers and a diverse, supportive team.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain store operation and maintenance, including daily reconciliation and cash handlingDonation sorting including stock selection, inventory, destination and pricingDemonstrate excellence in customer serviceAssist with inventory turnover, quality control and visual merchandisingAssist with administration duties including customer emails and queries and phone callsAssist with social media contentAssist with e-commerce operations and stock managementWork closely with Retail Operations Manager to achieve daily and weekly commercial objectivesMentoring and overseeing volunteers, occasionally with minimal supervisionDemonstrate a workplace culture based around the values of respect, kindness, and dignityRole model professionalism and service excellence in all areas of the Op ShopsContribute to a yes culture where the workplace adapts continually to the needs of the staff, the customers, and the businessCelebrate achievement and growth in the team, and share the successes of the business with allAbout youYou are an adaptable and innovative team member, with excellent communication and customer service skills. As one of our Retail Assistants you will bring to Wayside Op Shops an interest in fashion and have a great eye for detail.
