As a Trade Instructor Carpentry, youll deliver practical, trade-based training to prisoners, supporting them in developing job-ready skills and gaining nationally recognised qualifications. Youll work as part of the collaborative Industries team at Acacia Prison. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Wooroloo, WA.As a Trade Instructor Carpentry in the Industries team, youll make a positive impact by:Delivering hands-on carpentry training and overseeing prisoners working on carpentry projectsSupervising prisoner work teams to achieve workshop productivity and safety goalsPromoting rehabilitation and post-release employability through skills developmentEnsuring all tools, equipment, and machinery are maintained and securely controlledIdentifying and addressing safety issues and adhering to WHS and security standardsSupporting sentence management by reporting prisoner progress, behaviour, and participationSerco is a place for youYou are a qualified carpenter who enjoys mentoring others and wants to make a real impact in your community. You bring practical workshop experience and a strong understanding of safety, structure, and teaching practices.
