Together, we are making every move count.We''re making every move countPerform corrective maintenance repairs, general repair work and preventative maintenance on all Terminal equipment.Performing boiler making/welding.On OfferCompetitive salary package commensurate with experienceOpportunity to work for a Global CompanyLearning & Development opportunities to progress your careerPaid Parental LeaveEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee Referral ProgramPaid Community Service LeaveMain tasks and responsibilitiesWorkshop DutiesCarry out fault finding and emergency breakdown repairs on Straddle Carriers, Reach Stackers, Forklift trucks, Quay cranes and ancillary equipment.Carry out fault finding and general repair work on Straddle Carriers, Reach Stackers, Forklift trucks, Quay cranes and ancillary equipment.Carry out PM servicing as required in compliance with PM schedules provided.Ensure all repair and service work is carried out in an efficient and timely manner.Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with company OHS&E regulations.CleanlinessEnsure the working area is kept in a clean and tidy condition.Ensure that tools and equipment supplied by the company are kept clean and in good condition.AdministrationComplete all relevant paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.OtherRepresent the company in a professional manner to meet the clients expectations.Other tasks as directed by Site Supervisor.What youll need to succeedRequiredAustralian or recognized Mechanical trade qualification.Minimum completion of year 10.PreferredDisconnect Reconnect restricted electrical license.Forklift operators license.Elevated work platform license.Knowledge of the current ports mechanical and electrical crane control systems.Demonstrate knowledge in the operation of mechanical boom and cable equipment to troubleshoot machine problems and evaluates correctness and completeness of repairs that have been done on the machine.Understanding of the crane operations and inspects associated machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects.Examines Parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges. Reads, understands and interprets operating manuals, parts manuals and technical drawings.ExperienceMinimum 10 years post apprenticeship experience: specializing in fault finding, repairs and PM service on heavy plant. E.g. earth moving equipment, heavy duty forklift trucks, container handling equipment, mining equipment, marine equipment, generating sets, electrics forklifts etc.Skills & KnowledgeStrong knowledge of hydraulics, electronics and/or diesel engines.Basic to intermediate skills using Microsoft Windows Applications / DOS based programs.Customer relationship skills.Strong analytical and numeracy skills.Effective time management skills.Sound communication skills (written and verbal).Knowledge of the mechanical handling, port or industrial operations industry sector.CompetenciesCustomer orientated.Team player.Excellent work ethic.Ability to participate in all training and development programs.Ability to get things done.Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.AdditionalOther duties as requested by your manager.Able to lift heavy objects in line with OH&S guidelines.Able to work at heights.Be in good general physical condition.You will be part ofWe offer you an opportunity to put your skills and experience into work and make an impact onour global organisation and the cargo handling industry.
