Our members include large and small companies which invest, own, manage and develop all forms of property as well as providers of professional services to the industry.Position PurposeAn exciting opportunity to provide political, policy, research, and administrative support to the Property Councils executive and enhance the organization''s engagement with federal legislative and political processes. Key responsibilities include monitoring legislative developments, preparing policy submissions and correspondence, coordinating stakeholder meetings, supporting member committees, and drafting briefing materials for the Executive Team.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct systematic monitoring of federal legislative, parliamentary, and political developments on property-related issues, as well as those with broader economic impact.Provide analysis of political intelligence to inform advocacy priorities and organizational positioning.Secure meetings for the Executive Team with key stakeholders, and prepare meeting agendas, briefing materials and action items.Support the development and implementation of an annual federal government relations strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.Cultivate and maintain relationships with ministerial, shadow ministerial, and crossbench offices to support the Executive Teams industry advocacy.Provide policy and administrative support to the Property Councils national committees and roundtables and support policy, research and advocacy development as required.Support national advocacy projects, including election platforms, budget submissions, and coordinated industry responses to federal budget announcements.Experience and skillsExcellent understanding of the political, legislative and public policy processes.At least three years experience in roles with strong government and stakeholder advocacy and relationships.Superior communications skills.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues/projects and meet competing deadlines while maintaining internal and external relationships.Proactive and self-motivated, and able to work in a small team environment with limited supervisionUndergraduate degree in politics, public affairs, environment, planning, economics, law or similar.About youAlongside a competitive remuneration and benefits package, we support ongoing professional development, fostering a culture of continual learning and improvement.Our offices are located in the CBD, close to public transport and we support flexible working arrangements, ensuring you have a work-life balance.
