Install, upgrade, and maintain underground and aerial telecommunications infrastructure for main network feeds and lead-in connections to single dwelling units (SDUs), including Fibre to the Premises (FTTP), Fibre to the Node (FTTN), and Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) technologies. Investigate and resolve complex faults in existing underground and aerial networks, including lead-in cable repairs and pit remediation, to ensure uninterrupted service delivery to end-users. Serve as a key contact point for daily communication with homeowners, tenants, and businesses to arrange site access, explain work scope, and manage expectations during both planned and emergency works. Organize and submit applications for permits from local councils and regulatory bodies, ensuring that all civil activities comply with legal, environmental, and safety regulations. Conduct on-site surveys to assess physical conditions and existing infrastructure and develop practical and cost-effective civil solutions for new installations, upgrades, or complex relocations. Adhere to and promote strict WHS and environmental standards on all job sites, ensuring compliance with industry codes, risk assessments, and safe work practices. Prepare and maintain accurate job records including scope of works, network diagrams, site photos, and compliance documentation for internal tracking and external audit purposes. Work closely with telecom design engineers, field technicians, and subcontractors to interpret network designs, provide constructability feedback, and execute tasks to specification. Play a key role in the transition of legacy copper and hybrid networks to modern fibre-based solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to existing services while enabling high-speed broadband access.Qualifications and skills required:Relevant Bachelor degree in engineering or higher and 1 year of relevant experience as Engineering Technologists.Other Attributes: Identify unsafe operations.
